Practice Areas Overview
Based in Tavares, Florida and serving clients throughout Lake County and Orange County, the Law Office of Michael E. Golub provides exceptional legal representation in the areas of family law, bankruptcy, mediation, and criminal defense.
At The Law Office of Michael E. Golub, we provide supportive guidance throughout the divorce process, ensuring that our clients' interests are protected each step of the way. Every divorce presents a new and unique set of facts and issues. We will listen to your concerns and help you make the best decisions for yourself and your family regarding the various issues that accompany the ending of a marriage, including:
- Child Custody
- Child Support
- Parenting Plans
As an experienced mediator, Michael E. Golub knows when to use negotiation to achieve an amicable divorce agreement, allowing parties to resolve issues in a financially and emotionally beneficial manner. Whenever possible, he works to obtain the results his clients desire without fighting merely for the sake of fighting. However, if litigation is necessary to protect a client's rights and interests, Mr. Golub is an aggressive representative in the courtroom.
In addition to divorce and related matters, our office also assists clients in adoption, paternity, and dependency matters. Because we practice criminal defense alongside family law, we are especially adept at handling cases in which domestic violence is an issue. We help clients obtain, enforce, or challenge injunctions for protection against domestic violence depending on the circumstances of the case.
If you are overwhelmed with debt, we can help you obtain relief now and take the first step toward financial stability in the future. Many think of bankruptcy as a last resort, a drastic move made out of desperation; however, it can be the solution to even the most daunting financial problems. Bankruptcy may be the answer in the following situations:
- Possible foreclosure sale on your home
- Vehicle repossession
- Potential loss of your business
- Lost income due to wage garnishment
- Inability to pay monthly bills as they come due
- Harassment from creditors
- Threats of lawsuits from creditors
Once you determine that bankruptcy may be a viable course of action, it is imperative to protect your rights and explore your options under bankruptcy law. We possess the knowledge and experience to help consumers and businesses choose the type of bankruptcy that will best fit their needs, whether Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, or Chapter 13 bankruptcy. By offering educational support and sound advice, our goal is to make clients comfortable with the process, and ultimately provide the greatest level of financial relief possible.
Mr. Golub is a skilled and experienced mediator with certificates in family law, circuit civil, and appellate mediation from the Florida Supreme Court. He is also certified as a residential foreclosure mediator, handling bankruptcy and residential foreclosure mediation and overseeing loan modifications. In many instances, mediation can take place before a lawsuit is even filed, saving parties the time, stress, and cost of litigation. Please see his attorney profile for more information about Mr. Golub's expertise in mediation.
Mr. Golub began his legal career working for the Office of the Public Defender, where he was able to hone his litigation skills and learn effective defense strategies. Today, our office provides exceptional defense representation to a wide range of criminal charges, including driving offenses and DUI (driving under the influence), drug charges, probation violations, and other misdemeanors and felonies, as well as juvenile matters. We also regularly assist our family law clients with criminal issues, including allegations of domestic violence, and provide comprehensive representation in overlapping areas of law.
